What does it mean to create a font pairing?
To create a font pairing is to create a picture using different fonts that establish unity and harmony with each other.
What are the four assignments you chose to do? Write the name of the assignment and describe your design for each.
I did Assignment 2,3,6,8. For Assignment 2 I used the contrast of script and serif type to represent the contrast between a butterfly and a bee. For Assignment 3, I used a picture of a NYC contrast and used the font pairing technique the same but different to represent the style the city holds. For Assignment 6, I used the famous saying “but first, coffee” and created an aesthetically pleasing picture. For Assignment 8, I took a childish view on the saying and used that to make a colorful and child-like approach.
Which assignment would you say is your BEST font pairing and why?
My best font pairing is assignment 6 because I really like the font pairing I created with the contrast between the script and serif type and how it goes along with the picture.
Which assignment would you say is your Least Successful font pairing and why?
My least successful assignment 8 because I feel like it could’ve been done for creatively and thoroughly.
How would you describe the font pairing process? What makes a font pairing so difficult?
It’s difficult to find fonts that look well with each other but also with the picture being used but once you figure out the techniques it gets easier.
