1. How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of Magazine Design and the parts of a magazine cover and interior?

The design I created demonstrated my knowledge because I created a sense of unity and used the left third of the magazine which people read first. We also used the same color scheme throughout the interior and the cover to create unity and harmony.

2. In what ways does your magazine connect to the corporate identity of the magazine? What are some design queues that you used from the existing magazine?

My magazine identifies with the corporate identity and used a very simplistic design using bold fonts and colors. Some design queues I used were the small and simple coverlines, the bold and bright main coverline, and the dateline and price design of the magazine.

3. How did completing the brainstorming packet and sketches affect your design process?

It made it easier to put the design together and figure out the small details like the name for the coverlines and the main coverline. It also made it easier to unify the cover and the interior since they were planned out together on the same paper.

4. How did you like working with a partner? How do you think working with a partner makes the design process easier and more difficult?

I liked working with a partner more than I expected. It makes it easier since it lessens the workload on each partner. It made it a little more difficult when it came to creating design elements that we both liked and also went with the identity of the company.

5. Looking at your partner’s design, if you were to design your partner’s portion by yourself how would it look different? What would you have changed?

I would make the design a little more geometric with the shapes having sharp corners. I would have also had a white border around the interior to clean it up and it is a design queue used by the magazine company.

6. Describe the ideal partner (co-worker / co –designer)?

The ideal partner and co-designer is someone who is open to different ideas and takes criticism into their design but doesn’t change it completely for someone else.
